One can visit the Wildlife Sanctuary from sunrise to sunset.
Winters: Early Gate Entry around 10 am and late gate entry is at 4 pm.
summers: Early entry is around 10 am and late entry at 4 pm.
No visitor is allowed to stay inside the sanctuary during night.
The sanctuary remains open on Saturday & Sunday also.
Closed: During monsoon season the Sukhna WLS remains closed from 1st July to 20th August.
The sanctuary remains closed on National Holidays and Holi.
Best time to visit: The best time to visit the Sanctuary is between October and March, and visits are allowed between sunrise and sunset only.
Sukhna wildlife sanctuary is located in the Shivalik foothills of Chandigarh city near Sukhna lake and is spread over an area of 2600 hectares. The Shivalik region along with the adjoining plains have come under heavy thrust of human pressure due to commercial, industrial and economic activities.
