School Nursery Yojana

School Nursery Yojana

Ministry of Forests, Environment & Climate Change (MoEF&CC), New Delhi has launched a scheme named School Nursery Yojana in the month of August, 2015. Under this scheme, Department of Forest & Wildlife, Chandigarh is planning to raise school nurseries in different school with an aim to involve young students in growing plants in school nurseries to bring them closer to natural environment, help them under the natural processes to germination and plant growth and feel the joy of watching sapling grow.

AIMS

The School Nursery Yojana aims at involving school students in raising plant nurseries to bring them closer to natural environment, help them understand the natural processes of germination and feel the joy of watching sapling grow.

Quarterly Progress Report Under School Nursery Yojana

  • Under the Scheme of School Nursery Yojana, total 10 no. of schools of UT Chandigarh were asked to submit a report regarding creation of nursery in their school premises or all other activities done under School Nursery Yojana.
  • At present, out of total 10 no. of schools of UT Chandigarh, all the schools have initiated the work of creation of nursery in their school premises and 8 no. of schools have raised the seedlings in Nursery Beds, Pots and Polythene Bags. They have also distributed seedlings to other schools and local people/residents also. The detailed activities being done by schools were given in Image.
