Description: |
Annual, glabrous or sparsely, hairy herbs, to 70 cm high; stem purplish-brown, grooved, with woody rootstock. Leaves 1-3 pinnatisect, to 7.5 cm long; segments filiform, glabrous. Heads sessile or shortly peduncled, discoid, 1.5-2mm across arranged in panicled racemes. Achenses brown, glabrous, minute. |

Submontane and montane Himalaya and adjacent plains from Uttar Pradesh to Kashmir; Afghanistan to C. Europe, Japan, China. |

Uses: |
Decoction of leaves taken as a bitter tonic for worms, and colic; infusion used as a purgative; twigs used as brooms. Flowering tops yield an essential oil; also a fixed oil. |
